Bill & Judy Meridith
Founders of WCA

Bill is President or owner of a number of businesses in the Wellington area.  He is past President and former owner of Precision Machining, Inc., the 1996 SBA Region VII Subcontractor of the Year.

"There is no doubt that anything done by the Meridiths is going to be done right. This approach may be rooted in their business background. As a young man right out of school, Bill went to work operating a milling machine. He started his own company, Precision Machining, Inc., in 1966 to make parts primarily for the aircraft industry. The business boomed, and grew to the point that he received a number of awards and significantly expanded the operation. To this day, one building, which is adjacent to the ranch in Wellington, Kansas, still houses the largest metal milling machine in the world.

It is easy to see the enjoyment they both get from their cattle, but nothing matches the passion that Judy has for their Longhorns. If she likes a particular animal, there is no amount of money that can buy it. That particular Longhorn will not be leaving the Meridiths’ pasture.

Bill and Judy sold their machinery business in 1999, but they retained ownership of the buildings, hundreds of acres of wheat and pasture land, a majestic home, and some of the most beautiful Longhorn cattle in the country. They now focus on enjoying their cattle, their family, and visiting Wellington Christian Academy, a private school they built with the Lord’s guidance and where Bill serves on the school board."  -Tallgrass Cattle Company

Bill and Judy have given generously to a number of churches, scholarships and other non-profit organizations in the community.

Annie is not a new face at WCA.  Over the last couple of years, she has worked as a substitute teacher as well as a preschool para.  Nor is she a stranger to the community, as she and her husband and their four boys have lived in Wellington for many years.  This year she has agreed to take on the responsibilities of P.E. teacher/middle school science teacher.  She brings with her a degree in elementary education/middle school science endorsement from Emporia State and 6 years of teaching experience in the public school setting.  One of her passions is learning.  Therefore, she is excited for this new adventure and learning alongside the students at WCA.

My name is Chelsea McNeil.  I have taught high school Spanish for over 10 years.  This is my second year at WCA, and I love teaching elementary and middle school! I love teaching Spanish, but this year I will also be taking on middle school math.  I have a background in business-related math, but I have always loved word problems and working out solutions.  I think it will be an exciting challenge and I look forward to it.

I am blessed to be teaching music and band for my 2nd year at WCA! I live in Clearwater, KS where my husband is a Pastor.  We have 5 grown children, and we are expecting our first grandchild this December! I love teaching music to the next generation, all for the glory of the one who created it, our great God! May we glorify His name with every note!

Melissa Meeker
4th Grade Teacher
This is my fourth year in 4th grade! I love teaching at WCA! I previously taught 2nd grade for three years from 2009-2012.  I live on a farm with my husband and three kids.  Outside of teaching I stay very busy keeping up with their activities and helping with harvest meals in the summers.  I enjoy playing golf, going to Lake Tenkiller, and any other adventures with my family! My favorite things about teaching fourth graders are watching them blossom into young adults and sharing my faith in the Lord with them!

Trisha Skupa
Kindergarten Teacher/School Librarian/School Board Member
I have been at WCA since its inception.  My favorite thing about teaching kindergarten is teaching kids to read and write.  I enjoy being the school librarian and helping students find books they like to read and discuss.  My husband and I live in the country with our two daughters, who attend WCA.   We are K-State fans, and we enjoy attending a K-State football game in Manhattan each fall.  I am passionate about Wellington Christian Academy, and I am excited to help the school continue to grow and thrive.  I am grateful for God's faithfulness in my life and at WCA!
