Mrs. Jenkin's
5th Grade

Fifth grade at WCA is a meaningful and memorable year, designed to prepare students both academically and spiritually for the transition into middle school. Our classroom provides a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where students are encouraged to grow in knowledge, character, and faith.

Our instruction is grounded in the Core Knowledge curriculum, which offers a carefully sequenced, content-rich foundation across all subject areas. This strong academic base is enriched with project-based learning, giving students the opportunity to think critically, collaborate with peers, and apply their learning in creative ways.

Beyond the classroom, students participate in hands-on field trips that bring their studies to life and connect learning to the world around them. A special highlight of the year is our end-of-year trip to Oklahoma City—a milestone event that celebrates our students’ accomplishments and marks their graduation from elementary school.

At Wellington Christian Academy, our fifth grade classroom is a place where students are known, challenged, encouraged, and equipped for the journey ahead.

Mrs. Amy Jenkins

5th Grade Teacher

With over 30 years of experience in education—including three decades teaching in Wellington—Mrs. Jenkins brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and heart to the classroom. Now in her 33rd year as an educator, she is excited to join the Wellington Christian Academy family as the 5th grade teacher. Her teaching journey has been marked by a deep love for learning and a strong commitment to helping students grow both academically and spiritually. Known for her hands-on, engaging teaching style, she creates a classroom environment where students are encouraged to think deeply, explore creatively, and develop strong character. Outside the classroom, she is a proud mother of two grown children and a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren—with two more on the way! Her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, guides both her teaching and her personal life:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
