Wellington Christian Academy was started to fill a need in Sumner County Kansas.  The need was for a school that teaches both outstanding academics and the love of Jesus Christ.  At WCA, we believe that both are instrumental for our children to develop to their fullest potential.  Of course, outstanding academics: math; reading; language arts; history and social studies are stressed at the school

However, this effort is for naught if the student falls for one or more of the numerous pitfalls in our society.  Crime, truancy, drugs and alcohol, teenage pregnancy all can have a devastating affect on our children’s futures.  Teaching the students Christian values and exhibiting the unconditional love of Jesus will give them the strength and knowledge needed to resist the temptations seducing our children today.

Testimonials

Christian education is much more than just a Bible class added to the state's curriculum; it is much more than a daily devotional service added to an otherwise secular environmentChristian education is about the intersection of faith with every part of the curriculum and each activity that the school sponsors. Christian schools are uniquely able to handle the questions about the nature of God, His creation and what He expects of us.  Christian Education provides reinforcement of what young people are learning about God in home and church settings.

Public schools are not allowed to approach this intersection of curriculum and faith.  They can not draw from the vast knowledge that is found in the Bible.  They do not publicly pray daily for one-another and for others.  Students in Public schools are not allowed the added compassion and strength to resist today’s temptations.

“We believe the existence of private schools that encourage academic excellence promotes higher standards among all schools. We believe private Christian schools in particular give students an excellent opportunity to learn from godly teachers who can be important examples in their lives. These instructors can teach students how to integrate a Christian worldview into every area of learning. Christian schools also allow students to be surrounded by peers who are more likely to share a faith in Jesus Christ.”

-Focus on the Family-

Students in larger towns and cities have the private school option.  WCA was started to give our youth some of the same opportunities.
